SDSN Youth joins people around the world in mourning the passing of Pope Francis, a remarkable global leader committed to climate justice, equality, and youth empowerment.
It feels especially profound that just weeks ago, many of us gathered in Vatican City for the 2025 Vatican Youth Symposium—an event Pope Francis supported through his vision of youth-led change and intergenerational dialogue. Hosted in collaboration with the Pontifical Academy of Social Sciences, the Symposium reminded us of his deep belief in the power of young people to shape a better world.
As we reflect on his legacy, let us continue to advocate for a form of progress that, in the words of Pope Francis, is “healthier, more human, more social, and more integral.”
