Bridget Abiem us a graduate from the Federal University of Agriculture Makurdi, Benue state, now known as, Joseph Sarwuan Tarka University, Makurdi, where she studied Bachelor of Agriculture (B. Agriculture) degree in plant breeding and seed science. She has burning passion in the development sector and has in the past, worked on several initiatives and projects geared towards community development. Bridget has worked as a volunteer(SDG Coordinator) with the United Nations Sustainable Development solutions Network-Youth, wherein she contributed to the advancement of the Sustainable development Goals (SDGs) in Nigeria, while also drawing workable lessons for career advancement. She also volunteered with the House of Hilkiah Foundation (an NGO), supporting program development, implementation, monitoring and evaluation in leadership development for youths and women with components of empowerment. Part of her responsibilities as a Volunteer, was to learn best practices in youth leadership and transmit same to some assigned youths who aspire to be leaders of tomorrow like herself. Abiem hopes to develop her career along this line and become a seasoned professional in learning and leadership development, with specialization in youth empowerment. She is currently the Co-Lead Regional Officers, SDG Students Program UN Sustainable Development Solutions Network-Youth. She aims to provide the best possible contribution and support for any organization she is part of, through commitment to hard work, development and goal- oriented performance, aiming to actively utilize strengths and competencies to serve in an enabling environment where new ideas and initiatives are the norm, with the certainty of impacting positively on her primary constituency- youths and the society at large. She enjoys learning new things, surfing the internet for innovative ideas and productive engagements with peers and colleagues.
